“…dataLogistics was the only business that could provide us with a rapid, all-encompassing Network, Wiring and Phone solution for our three offices in the short timeline we had prior to our website launch. dataLogistics’ response time for the ordering, setup and installation of our entire Networking and Phone solution was exceptional. The implementation as well as the training in our new office facility was done in a quick, accurate and professional manner. The support we have received since our initial installation has been fantastic. You, as well as your people, deserve a round of applause for your efforts.”

Services Provided

Voice and Data Service Implementation
Evaluation, selection, and coordination of installation of integrated voice and data services. The solution was based on an offering from a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), and was slated for a new building. During implementation of the service many problems were experienced with timely delivery – dataLogistics had people on site at ALC Controls’ new location and in constant contact with the CLEC’s technicians and operations people until correct delivery of service was completed.
Both voice and data service was provided utilizing a single integrated T1, and with the use of a channel bank the voice and data components were split and delivered to a router and a phone system.

Voice and Data Wiring
Designed voice and data wiring infrastructure for ALC Controls’ new building, provided vendor selection, and coordinated and managed the installation of the wiring solution.

Server / Telecommunications Room Design
Worked with ALC Controls as well as the construction company contracted to build ALC Controls’ building to design a server/telecommunications room. This design entailed requirements for location, power, grounding, climate control, as well as physical layout. Implemented a centralized power backup solution for all the Compaq Servers and communications equipment. Implemented a controlled shutdown process for all servers in the event of a prolonged power failure.

Local and Wide-Area Networking
Designed and implemented a LAN for ALC Controls’ new building. Supplied and configured all the required hardware (switches and routers) as well as software components. Planned and implemented a permanent routed Internet connection and DNS implementation. Managed InterNIC Domain Name Registration changes, and performed the required DNS server and zone configuration.
Implemented the infrastructure necessary to support a Microsoft Windows network environment including WINS and DHCP. Implemented a remote access solution based on Microsoft’s PPTP VPN software. Also implemented a network-based modem sharing solution.

Phone Systems
Planned, supplied, configured, and installed a Computer-based (Computer Telephony, or CT) phone and voice mail solution using the AltiGen CTI platform. This solution was hosted on a Compaq server platform.

Messaging (e-mail) Systems
An in-house Microsoft Exchange Server for internal and Internet e-mail, scheduling, and information sharing was implemented. Supplied the required software licensing and configured the system to meet client requirements.
A shared fax solution, integrated with Microsoft Exchange Server and with the ability for users to send faxes electronically from their desktops was implemented.

Microsoft BackOffice Suite Solutions
Designed, procured, configured, and delivered two Compaq Servers and a centralized backup device. One server was built to support a communications function that included a Microsoft Exchange e-mail server, a modem sharing solution, an electronic fax solution, and remote VPN access for roaming employees. The second server was built to support file and document sharing as well as database capabilities.
